COMM 220: Communication and Social Relationships (Boone)

Introduction

Welcome!  You've reached the COMM 220: Communication and Social Relationships (Boone) course guide dedicated to the Communication Advice Paper / Literature Review / Presentation / final project.  This guide will provide you with resources and strategies to support your upcoming research assignment.

Assignment Requirements

To summarize, the library resources can help you with your:

  • Three (3) secondary / popular sources (popular press / magazines / news)
  • Five (5) academic / primary sources (peer-reviewed journal articles / scholarly books)
  • Citations for your sources in APA style (including annotations)

Also note that since you will be required to create slides for the presentation portion of your final project, you may want to be aware of some of the computer labs on campus. Computer labs in the Olin Center (including the EDGE Center on the first floor which has computers available with specialized software like Photoshop) and the Tredway Library (which has a number of lab computers and group study spaces) are open seven days a week when school is in session and have both Windows and Apple OS machines. You might also use Google Slides to create a unique and interactive presentations (see this helpful video from Rochford on Demand).
