The Rare & Special e-Zone is the digital archival repository for the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Featured among its collections are antique maps, primary historical materials, rare books and travelogs, and modern graduate theses and scholarship.

The Silk Road Online project is an "international collaboration to make information and images of all manuscripts, paintings, textiles and artefacts from Dunhuang and archaeological sites of the Eastern Silk Road freely available on the Internet."

Kyoto University Rare Materials Digital Archive is home to over "1.9 million images of over 20,000" records and artifacts documenting Japanese history and culture.

The National Palace Museum in Taiwan is "a treasure trove of Chinese culture," particularly collections that were " inherited from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing courts." The website and collections are accessible in English as well as Mandarin.

The Palace Museum in China is located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Imperial Palace and Forbidden City of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Their collections feature art, artifacts, and architecture that document imperial life and culture in China from the 14th to 20th centuries.
