The Swenson Center has worked with many other libraries and archives to document, preserve, and digitize Swedish American newspapers. Between 600 and 1,000 Swedish language newspapers were published in the United States, making the Swedish American press the second largest foreign language press in the United States in 1910 (after German) with a total circulation over 650,000 copies.
