Remember that you need to find a peer-reviewed or equivalent scholarly work. When it comes to scholarly books, look for materials published by a scholarly press (you can usually find this information in the catalog record for any book you find). Also sometimes referred to as an academic or university press, a scholarly press is a publishing house associated with a post-secondary institution. The press specializes in publishing scholarly works, many of which are authored by faculty members. Most large research universities house an academic press. Sometimes these will be works by a single author, and sometimes these will be "edited volumes" which can be thought of as similar to a special edition of an academic journal where an editor will act as a peer-reviewer for individual chapter submissions.
OneSearch provides a simple way to search for books, eBooks, videos, articles, digital media, and more, all in one place. In the search box above, you will see a drop-down list of options for filtering your search. Though our local physical collections are not very robust on this subject, we do have access to a wide variety of eBook collections (here is an example search that may be useful), and the I-Share service will be an excellent source for academic books covering a range of topics in the digital game industry. Be aware that J-Term is short and I-Share materials take a few days to ship -- while it is a great resource, materials will almost certainly not arrive in time to support this particular assignment. Try to find something in our local collections.
