Augustana's Special Collections

Special Collections, located on the first floor of Tredway Library, holds Augustana's collections of rare books and manuscripts as well as the college archives. The materials held in Special Collections are non-circulating but may be requested for on-site use in the Special Collections reading room.

  • Explore Special Collections' digitized materials on the Digital Projects page. Note that a majority of what we own in Special Collections has not been digitized; to fully appreciate the collections, you will likely need to visit in person.
  • You can conduct a keyword search of the finding aids for our manuscript collections. (A finding aid is a document that describes the contents of an archival collection, to make those contents more accessible to researchers.) To do so, go to the Search Our Collections page. Select "Search for Manuscripts and Archival Material," then "Search Our Manuscript Collections Using ArchivesSpace."
  • For help citing sources from Special Collections, visit the Special Collections Citation Guide.
