New Augustana College Observer Database

We are pleased to report that the Augustana College Observer is now searchable via ContentDM through winter of 2016 at the following link: https://collections.carli.illinois.edu/digital/collection/aug_observer/search We are working as quickly as we can to have the Observer digitally available through 2020 before physical copies ceased being printed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This database in ContentDM works differently than our old database hosted by ArcaSearch and after the database has been updated to include issues of the Observer through 2020, we will work on creating guidelines in order to facilitate faster and more effective searching techniques.

Race and Inequality Guide and AAPI Resources

The Race and Inequality guide has recently been updated to include resources that provide information about anti-Asian racism and AAPI hate crimes. Do you have any resources that you think should be added? Please send them to María Emerson (mariaemerson@augustana.edu).

"This is Augie" Diversity Week

The Tredway Library will host a table at the Diversity Celebration on April 16th, 12-4pm, in the Quad! Stop by to chat with some friendly librarians, browse our zine collection, and check out books that feature #OwnVoices (plus, grab some popcorn and buttons!).

Upcoming Brown Bag!

Primary Sources: Hidden Gems. Join librarian Stefanie Bluemle at 3pm on Thursday, April 22, for a look at some little-known and less-used primary source collections--both Tredway Library subscription databases and web-based repositories. We'll talk about sources for alternative press publications, translated immigrant newspapers, legal materials, and more, plus the primary source databases Tredway currently has on trial. Please join us at this link: https://meet.google.com/hgr-axtn-ybu.

April book display: "We're still here": Indigenous Survivance

Our last book display of the academic year is "We're still here": Indigenous Survivance. We have a great collection of books about this topic, so make sure to stop by and see what's available. All books are written by Native voices and focus on the active role Indigenous populations play in society today. Can't come to the library? Look at our virtual book display guide. We're including ebooks on the guide, which you can check out without physically coming into the library.

Free trials ending June 11th

Many of our databases that are free trials will be ending on June 11th. You can locate our free trials by going to the Resources A-Z list, and look under the "New / Trial Resources" list to the side of the screen if you're on a computer, or towards the end of the screen if you're on a mobile device. If you have used any of these databases and would like to have a discussion about possibly subscribing to it, please contact your liaison librarian
