World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures Resources

Research resources for language classes (Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese, German, Scandinavian studies/Swedish, ASL)

Welcome!

This subject guide highlights important research resources for all World Languages, Literature, and Culture classes at Augustana. Whether you're a major/minor or taking a single class, you should find something useful here.

If you have any questions about your research, get in touch with the humanities librarian Kaitlyn Goss-Peirce (see the box on this page) or ask at the research help desk on the library's 2nd floor. You can also chat with the Augustana student or librarian currently on call using the chat feature pop-up on the right side of the screen.

If you are an Asian studies major or minor, you should also consult the library's subject guide for Asian studies.

How to Use This Guide

This guide is intended to help you find both academic sources and language-learning resources. General databases and tools are categorized by type and purpose and can be located through the navigation bar on the left. Language-specific databases and tools are available on the navigation bar under the Language-Specific Resources tab on the left; you will then be directed to select a specific language. The pages under the Language-Specific Resources tab will link to a separate research guide. You can also find these research guides listed on the main Research Guides page.
