I-Share is the lending arm of the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI). As members of CARLI, Augustana students, faculty, and staff have ready access to physical materials from more than 90 college and university libraries from across the state of Illinois. This is not available to non-Augustana users.
To request something from I-Share:
Do a search for your topic or item using the main search bar on the library home page, or within OneSearch.
Log into your account using the same username and password you use for all of your Augustana access (logging onto computers, Moodle, Arches, etc.).
Select the item you wish to order.
Click on "Get it" and then select the option to request it from I-Share.
Submit or view an interlibrary loan request
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) enables access and delivery of materials held by other libraries around the world. This service is free of charge to students, faculty, and staff of the College. It is not available to non-Augustana users.
There are three ways to request materials from other libraries:
Use the request form directly on ILLiad.
Use the ILLiad request button within Primo to request materials.
Search for and request the item from WorldCat to borrow materials from libraries around the world.
Once a request is received, library staff members will search for the item and attempt to obtain it from another library. Articles are typically delivered as a PDF within ILLiad, and these requests are usually fulfilled within 24-48 hours. Physical items (books, DVDs, scores, etc.) typically take 5-10 business days (does not include weekends) to arrive from the lending library.
