Strategic Plan

Outreach

Foster strong relationships with our community as outlined in the Augustana 2020 Strategic Plan.

  • Promote and educate the community about the value of Special Collections via in-person events and outreach (Micaela)
  • Expand use of and increase engagement with Instagram and TikTok to highlight collections, programs, and services (Garrett, Christine, Micaela, Julia, and outreach student worker)
  • Build on partnerships with high schools in the Illinois Quad Cities (Garrett)
  • Maintain and develop community partnerships with Rock Island Public Library (Bookmobile, Watts Midtown Branch, Special Collections collaborations, etc.), Library Laundromat League, and QC Academic Librarian League (Stefanie, Christine, Micaela, Garrett, and all)
  • Brainstorm alignments with new Augustana strategic plan (all)
  • Develop book-making and self-publishing ideas for makerspace (Garrett and all)
  • Continue outreach to student groups to promote student engagement (Garrett)
  • Finalize and post diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility statement (Stefanie and all)
  • Continue new practice of publishing an annual report (Stefanie with input from all)
  • Develop LibGuides and/or programming to support students’ development of holistic life skills (Kaitlyn and Anne)
  • Reconsider the Tredway Library Prize for First-Year Research in light of curricular restructuring (management team)
  • Pursue collaborations with the OSID office for student programming and collecting efforts (Micaela and Garrett)
  • Publicize displaying student art in the library (Garrett and outreach student worker)
  • Redesign and share library trading cards (Christine)
  • Host a ThurCo about diversity audit and new collection development policy (Stefanie)
  • Collaborate with OISSS to plan and host Living Library event (Christine and Garrett)
